Seth Ferguson

My experience with Skyline was great. They where very responsive when I had questions about our new addition. She is from the Remi and Hunter litter and just turned 2 in October.

Kimber loves to be outside. Where we live we have a large fenced in yard and during the spring and summer months most of her day is spent in the backyard running and playing with my kids.

As far as training she was very easy to teach her the basic commands that anyone who has a pup would teach their dog. I took it a little farther and since I am active in the outdoors and wanted to teach her how to retrieve ducks. I knew that she would be pretty easy at picking this up because from the day I picked her up from Skyline she was in love with retrieving. So over the last year and a half we have worked pretty hard on retrieving and this year is her first year hunting. She has done very well for it being her first year. What impressed me the most was on her second hunt of the year I took her out to a marsh that we hunt and shot a bird that landed in the tall grass and I knew when I shot it that it wasn’t the best shot so I sent her on the retrieve and also walked back there myself. After looking around I told my buddy there is no way we are going to find this bird and I looked over at Kimber who had her nose to the ground and I saw her trying to get something from under the weeds and her she pulls up this duck. With this being my first year hunting with a dog I was so happy. The following weekend we were hunting at a different location and shot a goose that swam all the way across the lake and up the bank. About an hour after shooting it I decided that I would take Kimber to look for it and soon as I got her on the trail she ran up the bank about 100 yards and found that goose that was still alive. She has one heck of a nose and I believe that is from the shed hunting background that she comes from. She has picked up around 30 birds so far this year and hope to have her out picking up more as the season goes on.

I am also going to take her out after harvesting a deer this year and going to see how she does on tracking it. With her being so good at finding lost birds I think she will do amazing at game recovery.

I have no complaints about her or anything from the breeder.
